The Message Behind The Miracle

Karen Marie Watney here. I so enjoyed writing this book about the miracles of Jesus. I put myself in each story as an observer. I rejoiced each time a life was changed for the better! I wondered what it would have been like to watch Jesus heal someone.

I was especially touched by how Jesus treated each person in a different way. It’s like He knew which ones needed to be brought away from the crowd to feel comfortable. Everything He did was done with so much love. Just being in His presence would have been such a blessing. His ministry was personal each time. He always focussed on the one in front of Him.

Just sensing His compassion made me love Jesus more. Each story is based on the Word of God. Then I added details and my own imagination.

The verses are written out and the references given for each story. As well, I added my observations in the “Selah . . . Pause and Reflect” section. There is also a “Heart Check” section. The following is a small sample of one of the stories.

The Woman With a Bent Back – Luke 13:10-17

Selah . . . Pause and Reflect

This woman did not come to Jesus. He called her to Himself! He was moved with compassion seeing her condition, all bent over, not able to straighten herself up. Its like He was thinking, Wait a minute, this cannot go on! She has to be healed! Can you sense the care He is expressing for her? He knew those were eighteen very long years. He spoke healing words to her, Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. Wow! Life-changing words! Her whole life changed right then! She will never forget that day! She will never forget the kindness and the authority of Jesus.

Heart Check: Picture yourself in her condition. Just for fun, do what I did – walk around bent over at the waist. I thought I would fall forward and I didnt think my neck would stretch back far enough for me to look up and see someones face! What a way to live for eighteen years! (Heavy sigh.)

You will enjoy reading these amazing stories! I think you will fall more in love with Jesus with each story, just like I did.
